The Church
The Interfaith Church of Australia has been in existence in one form or another since 2007. It is currently not conducting meetings or services, but remains to seed ideas for a new generation of conscious action and inclusive worship.
We do not seek to replace Christian Churches, Islamic Mosques, Buddhist Temples or other places of worship that are already available to the larger religious groups in Australia. Members of these faiths are however welcome to join the Church and become involved in the multidenominational and multicultural congregation. We are not an exclusive Church and do not ask our members to break ties with any other religious group. We seek to provide a support structure for those belief systems that do not have an active Church. Yes, this includes agnosticism and atheism if you wish to be involved. We hope to provide a place where people can meet like minds or explore the beliefs of others without confrontation or evangelism. At this stage, we don't have a building. We meet in our homes or at local parks in and around Brisbane to share good food, good conversation and advice. It would be nice to one day have a physical Church. As we do not ask for tithing this may be a long way off. In the future we hope to provide all the support services of the larger religious institutions, however this will take time. As the congregation grows and people volunteer their assistance we will build a foundation that supports these services, and hopefully more. Come join us and become part of something new and inspirational, the first completely inclusive Church in Queensland.
